I have lived in Bournemouth for just short of one year. It’s where I did my MA in Photography, met a few friends and lived on my own for more than a couple of months for the first time in my life. Inbetween course work and putting in practice the basics I had learned about housekeeping, I would go out for a stroll and take a few pictures here and there. It’s a good way to get to know a place and Bournemouth is quite easy to get around. Sadly, some of the best pictures I had taken there were lost in the big “virus ate my drive C:” incident, which happened right after I’d taken them and before I’d had a chance to do a backup. But I still have some photos I like of the city and that will bring me memories of a very good time of my life.
My favourite places to photograph in Bournemouth were the Gardens. There is quite a lot happening there, if you pay attention. It’s funny to notice though, looking through my photos, that I have a thing for photographing birds. Might be my subconscious trying to make up for the fact that photographing women randomly is frowned upon. So I photograph real birds. Or it’s just that I find them cute.
I do seem to capture quite a few interesting moments with animals in general. There is something about them. Sometimes they just look like they’re up to something. I can’t help imagining what this little bird found so interesting.
Or maybe it’s just me.
